This project gallery features some of my very early work in the field of historic renovation and adaptive reuse. The buildings were all registered architectural landmarks. Some of the work shows a contemporary inter vention in early XVII - XIX century Bulgarian vernacular architecture, bringing modern plumbing and electricity into the historic core. Other projects deal with buildings of more urbane and westernized character, typical for the large cities on the eve of the upcoming XX century, where the dominant approach is that of a respectful modernity trying to establish a dialogue with the treasured past.
Featured on this page is a façade restoration on a landmarked house along Ivan Vazov Street in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The project is from 1994.
